There's a relatively new vegan cafe that opened in the area. I say relatively new because it's actually been open for two months. Based upon the great reviews it received, Keith and I decided to eat there last Saturday. The food was amazing!

I got to sample the carrot bisque soup that Keith had, and it was simply fantastic! I had the small "chicken" caesar salad and a Tofurkey sandwich. Both were tastey and satisfying. However, the finishing touch was a non-dairy "milkshake". I had the "Malcom X" which is chocolate/cherry flavored and now I can't wait to go back and get another (or try one of the other flavors)!

I think I found a new spot to go after A&S meetings. It's in a convenient location (near home), has very late hours (open til 2am!), and great prices -- especially for restaurant that is socially/locally conscious which serves organic and vegan food. It even has that wonderful counter-culture/Bohemian feel that I loved when I was working in Rochester in the Co-Op building. (It housed an organic food store, yoga studio, peace council, fair-trade store, community darkroom, and community pottery studio.) Need I say more?

so glad you liked it! I'm up for eating there more. :-) Let me know and I can join you even if I don't go to A&S (not to far to walk or could bus it...)

My son would love to have a non dairy milkshake!!! He really misses dairy. We didn't figure out he was allergic till he was 5.

Hopefully he's not allergic to soy milk. The next time you're in town we'll have to take you there.
