There's a relatively new vegan cafe that opened in the area. I say relatively new because it's actually been open for two months. Based upon the great reviews it received, Keith and I decided to eat there last Saturday. The food was amazing!
I got to sample the carrot bisque soup that Keith had, and it was simply fantastic! I had the small "chicken" caesar salad and a Tofurkey sandwich. Both were tastey and satisfying. However, the finishing touch was a non-dairy "milkshake". I had the "Malcom X" which is chocolate/cherry flavored and now I can't wait to go back and get another (or try one of the other flavors)!
I think I found a new spot to go after A&S meetings. It's in a convenient location (near home), has very late hours (open til 2am!), and great prices -- especially for restaurant that is socially/locally conscious which serves organic and vegan food. It even has that wonderful counter-culture/Bohemian feel that I loved when I was working in Rochester in the Co-Op building. (It housed an organic food store, yoga studio, peace council, fair-trade store, community darkroom, and community pottery studio.) Need I say more?
